Govt to offer full support to journalist community: Balochistan CM

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has pledged speedy resolution of issues faced by the journalist community in the province. He was meeting the delegation of journalists led by President Quetta Press Club Razaur Rehman.

The delegation discussed media policy, welfare fund, media academy and a residential colony for the journalist community situated in Balochistan.

“Journalism has become the fourth pillar of our society.  Journalists have been providing 24/7 information to the public,” said the chief minister while vowing to review the media policy.  “Balochistan government offers full support to the journalist community in the province.”

Calling editors and journalists a positive face of the society, Chief Minister Jam Kamal said work on the first Media Academy in Quetta will be expedited and all steps will be taken for the welfare of the community.

“Hundreds of people in Balochistan have been associated with the newspaper and media industry, provincial government will not show negligence towards their issues,” Jam Kamal added.

President Balochistan Union of Journalist Ayub Tareen, Senior Vice President Quetta Press Club Abdul Khaliq Rind, General Secretary Quetta Press Club Zafar Baloch and Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani also attended the meeting.
