President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan conveyed their felicitations to the whole Pakistani nation and the Muslim world on the occasion of Eidul Azha, being celebrated across the country on Wednesday.

In their separate Eid messages, they urged the people to continue raising their guard against the fourth wave of coronavirus by strictly observing all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to contain its further spread.

The president, in a short clip message posted on Tik Tok, a popular social media platform, advised the faithful to observe distance while offering Eid prayers. He stressed upon prolonging these efforts to overcome the fourth Delta variant wave.

Referring to the alarming situation in neighbouring India, the president said: “If you take care, the way Pakistan is moving on the path of economic prosperity, it is sure, if it overcomes the corona wave, no one can distract it from that path,” he added.

In his message, Prime Minister Imran Khan conveyed his felicitations to the nation and the Muslim world. He said that without the spirit of sacrifice, a nation could not aspire to achieve development.

Imran noted that the celebration of Eidul Azha reminded of the unprecedented and supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS). “Allah Almighty liked their act of sacrifice so much that it was declared an obligation for the rest of Ummah to perform till the Day of Judgement.”

The prime minister said that the economic situation with which the country was confronted, had been changing now. The economy was put on the right track and as a result of government’s steps, the economic indicators were showing positive trends, he added.

He said that through different schemes launched by his government, the people were being provided with relief. The day was not far, he resolved, when Pakistan would be standing equally in the ranks of developed countries and the whole nation would feel pride among the comity of nations.”

Also, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry extended his best wishes to all Muslims on the occasion of Eidul Azha.“Happy Eid to the world of Islam,” he tweeted. “May Allah Almighty keep our festivals safe, bring us blessings and happiness and guarantee peace,” he added.
